26th October – 15th December
The Fleet Street era was probably the time when national newspapers and magazines were at their high.
Five leading photographers have united to produce an exhibition of some of their work, both of that period and later.
These photographers befriended many of the royals, Hollywood actors and celebrities of the era.
Not only will you see samples of well known news and feature pictures, but some of their later work – travel, landscapes and much more.
This unique exhibition is a first for Dimbola and indeed a first for the Island.
The five leading photographers are:
Bob Ayllot – Ex staff photographer Daily Mail, Daily Sketch, Daily Star, National Enquirer, and now freelance.
David White – Freelance for Daily and Sunday Mirror, Daily Express, Daily Mail, Daily Star, News of the World, The Telegraph, The Times, The Sun, The Sunday People and Observer.
John Cleave – Ex staff photographer for The Times and Sunday People.
Larry Ellis – Ex staff photographer for the Daily Express (entertainments features).
Mike Maloney O.B.E – Ex staff photographer for The London Evening News, Chief photographer mirror group, (and Britain’s most award decorated photographer and only Fleet Street photographer ever to be awarded the O.B.E.).
