A fascinating artistic collaboration examining how identities evolve by weaving in a rich global narrative driven by our journey to seek out meaning combined with our amazing ability to transform, to re-invent cultures and create new being.
“I try to define myself in a way that’s unique to me. It is far more complex then colour or one very restricted geographical space. It’s a plurality of tangible and intangible places, peoples and influences over thousands of years.” Sunara Begum
Sunara Begum is an English visual artist, filmmaker, photographer and writer of Bangladeshi descent. She uses installation, film, photography, live performance, sonics and text. Begum is the founder and director of Chand Aftara, a creation centre, where art is made and consumed in innovative and exhilarating ways. Begum is also the co-founder of Living Legacies, a traditional music archive in Gambia and New Horizons Africa, a music and arts festival in Lagos, Nigeria.
Acclaimed Sri Lankan born photographer Dr Dunstan Perera has devoted his career to experimenting with alternative photograph printing techniques. His interest in photography began at the age of only eight, and his latest method creates photographs with a unique, almost painting-like appearance.

Tunde will be performing after this at 9pm.

Tunde Jegede is one of the worlds’s foremost kora players and a cellist who performs his distinct and original compositions. A renaissance man who bridges African and European musical traditions. He is also a world-reowned producer and songwriter who brings a new vision to contemporary African and Western music and his work is a unique synthesis of classical, jazz and traditional music.
